Jennifer Marshall

Jennifer Marshall manages the Munnerlyn Astronomical Instrumentation Lab and has led the group’s involvement in several instrumentation projects, including building nearly 200 VIRUS spectrographs for the HETDEX project. Her scientific interests include the study of near-field cosmology, using metal-poor stars found in the halo of the Milky Way to better understand the formation mechanisms of the Galaxy and of the Universe as a whole. She is also the PI of the REU Site in Astronomical Research and Instrumentation at Texas A&M, which will admit talented undergraduates to conduct scientific research with Texas A&M astronomers starting in Summer 2014.
